What is a Repose?
A Repose is a gathering where the remains may be in the Family Residence, Funeral Home, Hospital or Nursing Home and family and friends are invited along to pay their respects. The coffin may be open or closed based on the family’s wishes.
What is a Removal?
A Traditional Christian Removal is where the remains are taken from either the Family Residence, Funeral Home, Hospital or Nursing Home to the Church for prayers the evening before the Burial or Cremation.
What is a Two day funeral or Two Movement?
This would comprise of an evening removal to a Place of Worship / Celebration. The Coffin would remain in the Place of Worship / Celebration overnight and following the Funeral Service the next morning, the remains would be taken to a Cemetery or Crematorium.
What is a One day Funeral or One Movement?
When there is no Evening Removal as described above, the deceased would repose in the Family Residence, Funeral Home, Hospital or Nursing Home and go directly to the Place of Worship / Celebration. Following Funeral Service the remains will be taken directly to a Cemetery or Crematorium.
