The ashes are normally available for collection within a week after the cremation. Please call the crematorium before you arrive to collect the ashes and please bring identification with you.
There are a number of options available to you regarding disposal of the ashes. These options will depend on which Crematorium you use. In general you can have the ashes interred in a Garden of Remembrance, a Columbarium Wall or placed in a family grave. You can have the ashes placed in a decorative urn and kept in the home or with permission you scatter the ashes in a significant location.
The person who signed the cremation papers is only allowed to collect ashes unless they provide a written note to allow fellow family member to do so.
PLEASE NOTE: For the main pricing structure above, we are assuming your loved one has died in a hospital or nursing home. When the person dies at home the funeral/preparatory process becomes more complex and you may assume for obvious reasons there will be extra cost considerations.
